OECD members discuss how to deal with tax havensBerlin - Ministers and representatives from 20 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) began discussions Tuesday on how to deal with tax havens.

Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland and other countries accused of lacking transparency in their tax affairs are attending the day-long meeting co-hosted by Germany and France in Berlin.

The talks follow up a similar meeting held in Paris on October 21, 2008, at which it was decided to draw up a "black list" of international tax havens.

Pyramid MD Arrested And Released On Bail  A team of Haryana police on Monday arrested S Saminathan, MD of Pyramid Saimira in charges of cheating a finance firm. He was later released by Tambaram court on conditional bail.

Pyramid Saimira had borrowed Rs 60 crore from India Bulls Financial Services and the repayment cheque had bounced.

The Haryana police arrested Saminathan from his house in Chennai.

Meanwhile, N. Narayanan, Chairman of Pyramid Saimira had said that there was a misunderstanding on the terms of settlement between Indian Bulls and his company.

OPEC oil price falls by nearly three dollarsVienna - The price of oil produced by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) fell by nearly three dollars at the start of the week, the Vienna-based group reported Tuesday.

The move comes after a recent push above 70 dollars a barrel (159 litres).

The basket price for one barrel of OPEC-produced crude fell to 67.41 dollars, down from 70.27 at the close of last week.

OPE analysts said the decline was a market reaction to a World Bank report that the future of the global economic recovery remains uncertain.
