Some Stones Used To Create Stonehenge Were First Erected In Wales: Study

A team of archeologist recently unveiled another mystery associated with Stonehenge. Now the researchers claim the stones used to create Stonehenge may have been first erected in Wales.

The stones after being carried to Salisbury Plain formed part of the monument's inner horseshoe, said archaeologists. It has been known that since 1920s the bluestones were brought to Stonehenge from somewhere in the Preseli Hills.

It was until recent that there has been collaboration with archaeologists to locate and excavate the real quarries from which they actually came.

According to study authors, both of the quarries in Preseli were exploited in the Neolithic, and Craig Rhos-y-felin was also quarried in the Bronze Age, around 4,000 years ago.

Thick Blanket of Gray Smog Covers Beijing

Car travels, fireworks and outdoor barbecuing were banned in Beijing after a thick blanket of gray smog covered the entire Chinese capital. Experts said the same situation might stretch entire week.

This was for the very first time that such an alarm has been raised to its highest level since the introduction of an emergency air-pollution response system in 2013.

A picture of the iconic Bird’s Nest stadium was also released by the state-run Xinhua News Agency showing the stadium entirely covered in a curtain of gray smog.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s Probe makes Second Attempt to Reach Venus

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) back in 2010 launched a probe to orbit Venus and explore the planet in depth but its attempt ended in a failure. Now five years after the first attempt, JAXA made a second and final attempt for its mission.

According to JAXA scientists, an increase in temperature in the main engine due to a choked fuel valve was the reason for the previous failure. The accident made the space agency miss the opportunity to send its craft in Venus orbit.

The space agency is now ready and on Sunday its probe Akatsuki executed its backup plan. The agency is presently waiting for the data from the probe. The data from the probe will confirm whether the second attempt made by the agency was a success or a failure.
