During an exclusive recording launched when world leaders assembled yesterday in Paris, France, for the high-level section of the United Nations climate change conference (COP21), a unique weather report was read by UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Goodwill Ambassador and global pop star Katy Perry for gaining attention toward the shocking effects of the phenomenon on the children worldwide.

In a news release issued by UNICEF, Ms. Perry said, “Droughts, floods, and other weather conditions are putting children at increased risk of disease and malnutrition, and destroying their families’ livelihoods. The worst part is some of the youngest and most vulnerable citizens of world are bearing most unfair burden of climate change”.

Lead study researcher Gordon Pennycook wrote in the introduction that in the study they have focused on pseudo-profound filthy stuff containing seemingly impressive assertions that are presented as real and meaningful but are actually stupid.

Scientists assembled in Washington-DC this week for the International Summit on Human Gene Editing for a discussion over a technology known as CRISPR-CAS9, which can put in, remove and alter the DNA of almost any organism.

The technology is relatively easy, cheap and correct, and many laboratories worldwide have been using it to make cells and breed laboratory animals, using modified DNA for researches related to diseases.

Following past year’s rocket failure, Orbital ATK has succeeded in mounting a second supply mission very quickly after collaborating with the US launch provider United Launch Alliance (ULA). The ULA was the provider of Atlas V rocket that lifted Cygnus into space on December 6 evening.

Orbital ATK CRS-4 was launched to the International Space Station (ISS) from Space Launch Complex 41 at 4:44 pm EST.

This was the first flight of an improved Cygnus spacecraft to the ISS. Orbital ATK's 4th contracted cargo resupply mission with the US Space Agency NASA to the ISS delivering over 7,000 pounds of science and research, vehicle hardware and crew supplies to the orbital laboratory and crew.

NASA’s New Horizons recently captured closest images of a small object called 1994JR1. The object is located in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy bodies beyond Neptune's orbit, said NASA scientists.

New Horizons, which made history after making the closest ever flyby of Pluto this July, captured images of 1994 JR1 on November 2.

According to mission scientists, 1994 JR1 is a 90-mile-wide (150 kilometers) object in Kuiper Belt. The craft pictured the small object from a distance of 170 million miles (280 million km).

Scientists associated with New Horizions’ mission said, “This sets a record, by a factor of at least 15, for the closest-ever picture of a small body in the Kuiper Belt, the solar system's 'third zone' beyond the inner, rocky planets and outer, icy gas giants”.

Despite several rulings from International Court of Justice other international conservation bodies, the Japanese government in November announced that it will resume whaling in Antarctica. Australia has now threatened Japan that it will be taking a legal action against its decision to resume whaling.

The Australian minister for foreign affairs, Julie Bishop, in a statement published online on Monday, said, “The Australian government does not support what is a deeply disappointing decision by Japan, and we will continue to raise our concerns at the highest level of the Japanese government”.
