A new research has been undertaken by Rosanne Di Stefano of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics to understand the existence of alien life on globular star clusters. These are heavily packed groups of millions of stars that are located only 100 light years away from Earth. The study argues that these clusters are likely to provide sustainable environment for the evolution of advanced interstellar life. The research recommends positive outlook owing to the information available regarding the existence of other planets outside our solar system.

In California, a surrogate pregnant with triplets has decided to sue father to keep one or all of the babies, which are not linked to her. After receiving support by a famous anti-choice lawyer, the surrogate mother-to-be will sue the genetic father.

She has claimed that the man’s alleged wish to terminate one of the fetuses allows her to take one of the babies, all of which are not related to her. She said that if he won’t agree, then she will keep all of them.

While speaking to The Daily Beast, Melissa Cook said that she is ready to take all. She added that she is feeling bad for the father, but at the same time, she thinks how somebody can have such disregard for human life.

According to Dierdre Pearson, who looks after a substance abuse treatment program for women at the Richmond Behavioral Health Authority, the cost involved in treating substance abuse is quite high, but if it is left untreated, its impact may worsen.

While speaking at a public hearing on a proposal to enhance Medicaid coverage of substance abuse services, Pearson said in a statement that she everyday sees women who are in high need of help which they do not get due to lack of funding.

The spread of highly infectious Zika virus in Brazil has shaken the Brazilian government. Health officials are now worried that the cases of newborns with abnormal brain development will rise due to the spread of virus.

Some reports have also shown that cases of another mosquito-transmitted illness i.e. dengue fever have also picked up the pace and has reached a historical high in the largest country of the South America.

Zika virus can lead to a condition called as microcephaly, in which infants are born with undersized brains and skulls. Data released by the Brazil’s Health Ministry showed that in this week alone, there were fresh 199 cases of people being infected with the Zika virus. There were 193 suspected cases in the week ended on December 26.

Researchers, in a recent study of identical and fraternal twins, found that if one of the twins is diagnosed with any type of cancer, then the chances of the other twin to develop cancer also elevate.

The study researchers said the risk of developing cancer was found to be almost 14% higher in an identical twin if the other twin has any type of cancer. This risk was 5% in fraternal twins if one twin had cancer.

The team even found that if any of the twins developed one type of cancer, the chances of the other twin developing the same type of cancer was also found to be higher.
