Top Ranked Diets on US News & World Report
It’s New Year and people have already started to work on their New Year resolutions. Here’s good news for all those who have made losing weight as their new year’s resolution.
US News & World Report has recently added a Fast Weight-Loss Diet category to its annual rankings of best diet plans. The category shows some of the top ranked diets that can help people lose weight quickly, but in a healthy way.
The diet that grabbed the top position on the list is the Health Management Resources (HMR) Program. HMR diet is actually a meal replacement diet which can be easily followed at home or under medical supervision.
Instead of eating the meals made at home, the dieters following this diet plan are free to order low-calorie shakes, soups, nutrition bars and multi-grain cereal.
According to the US News reviewers, the positive part of the HMR diet is that it’s a quick-start option and includes meals that can be delivered to your home. The only point where this diet lacks behind is that the shakes at time might get boring to consume.
Carol Addy, the chief medical officer at HMR, in a release said that a very common misconception associated with losing weight quickly is that it’s not healthy, not sustainable, and will just lead to future weight re-gain. But she said, “Numerous clinical studies demonstrate that following a lifestyle change program which promotes fast initial weight loss can result in better long-term success”.
Some experts said that losing weight slowly is much healthier option. Several other top-ranked diets on the US News list emphasizes to everyday changing of eating habits, rather than following a prescribed diet.
The ranking given to the diet plans is based on the evaluations by a panel of doctors, nutritionists and other health experts.
