Kumbakonam: ‘Mahamaham Pedicon 2007’, the 32nd Annual Congress of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), Tamil Nadu Chapter, would be held in Kumbakonam from August 10, 2007.

Its organizing chairman, Dr Vidudagiri told that over 600 medical doctors are estimated to be present at the three-day assembly, when almost 50 papers on various topics would be introduced.

He said that Dr. Naveen Thacker, IAP’s National President will deliver the keynote address.

The main purpose of the meeting is to create awareness about child safety.

In the evening, the government announced that the Pakistani president, General Pervez Musharraf will skip a meeting with Afgan President Hamid Karzai. The General’s eight years rule has been challenged by the opposition parties and Islamic militant groups.
