Three killed as Gautami Express catches fire in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, Aug 1: Three people, including two women, were killed as fire broke out in the Gautami Express near Mehboobabad district of Andhra Pradesh early this morning.
The fire broke out in one of the sleeper coaches, S-9, of the train, running between Secunderabad and Kakinada around 1:30 a. m. and spread to three other coaches, Railway sources said.
Fire-fighters and medical services were pressed into service immediately from nearby areas and the fire was doused after seven hours of the accident.
According to reports, the death toll is likely to rise as charred bodies were being taken out of the compartment. The cause of the mishap is being investigated. (ANI)
