Shark Killed in Florida Truck Accident
On Wednesday afternoon, a truck carrying four sharks ran off Interstate 95 near Oak Hill after it blew a tire.
The accident took place after 2pm near Oak Hill. The Florida Highway Patrol said that the five sharks were being taken to New York Aquarium in Coney Island from Marathon, Florida. During the trip, the tractor-trailer ran off the highway. The sharks were placed in different tanks in the vehicle.
Due to the accident, one tank got damaged and caused animal's death. People in the vehicle were safe. A SeaWorld rescue team from Orlando reached at the spot and took remaining sharks to their facility till the time transportation arrangements were being done to continue their journey to Brooklyn.
Team member Jim Kinsler was of the view that the remaining sharks are in good condition. Kinsler said sharks need good water conditions and proper space and care during travelling.
