BlackBerry cancels annual Live Conference to focus on targeted events

BlackBerryWashington, Dec. 24  : BlackBerry has reportedly called off its major annual conference as it intends to focus on smaller and more targeted events throughout 2014.

It is the first times since 2002 that the BlackBerry Live Conference has been cancelled as the company is struggling hard against tech leaders like Apple and Samsung to hold its market share.

According to Tech Crunch, the company said that this move would allow it to focus on running a number of smaller, more targeted events as BlackBerry Live was more of a general wrap aimed at developers and giving the executive team a chance to trot out their plans for the year ahead.

Events like an annual conference are particularly crucial to a company as these events are often the perfect place to showcase hardware.

However, BlackBerry not only cancelled the conference, but has also cancelled plans of two new phones prior to their launch. (ANI)
