Nuclear Power Corporation to team up with IOC, Nalco

Nuclear Power Corporation to team up with IOC, NalcoNuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) is planning to join hands with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and National Aluminum Company (Nalco). NPCIL has already been tied up with National Thermal Power Plant Corporation
(NTPC) earlier. Both of them are in an agreement to form a joint venture to set up nuclear power plants in the country.

Now it is looking forward to from similar kind of agreements with the country's biggest oil retailer IOC and the aluminum major NALCO. The NPCIL officials have informed that the process is on and the deals are expected to be finalizes in next few months.

NPCIL's Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. S. K. Jain has informed that the board members will have a meeting on such issues and will find out the further modifications.

However, as per sources, this has been an initiative by the NPCIL to raise financial resources to fuel the country's nuclear power program.

The objective of such projects is to achieve a generation capacity of 35,000 Megawatt by the year 2020 and 45,000 Megawatt by the year 2032.
