Thai shares up 2.7 per cent on Dow Jones rally
Bangkok - Thai shares jumped 2.7 per cent in value Tuesday on Dow Jones' rally and optimism about the US banking system, analysts said.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index ended at 577.75, up 15.20 points or 2.7 per cent.
"SET was following the Dow Jones rally of yesterday," Chaiyodh Jiwangkul, an analyst at Country Group Securities, said.
"Investors are expecting the four big US banks to announce improved second-quarter perfomances," he added.(dpa)
