India tennis ace Sania Mirza has moved up by 20 places to reach at 78th place in latest WTA women's single rankings which were released on Monday.

The improvement in the ranking of Sania was due to her brilliant performance in the Aegon Classic where she lost in the semifinals against 13th seeded Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia by
3-6 6-0 6-3 in Birmingham.

Sania also made into the semifinals of the doubles of the Aegon Classic and her doubles ranking also rose by two ranks to 35th rank.

Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi were at fifth and ninth spot respectively in the men's double ranking as there was no change in their rankings.

Another Indian tennis player Somdev Devvarman, who is struggling with his form, retained his 132 ranks with no change in his ranking.
