Britney officially placed under permanent conservatorship
Washington, Jan 7 : The conservatorship overseeing Britney Spears'' personal and financial affairs was officially made permanent on January 5 (09), when court papers were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The agreement filed in the court places the singer's finances under the permanent control of her father Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet, with her personal affairs being placed solely under her father, reports Contactmusic.
Court papers state that the singer "is substantially unable to manage . her financial resources or to resist fraud or undue influence."
According to Access Hollywood, the documents also state that Jamie will have full power, even over who visits and befriends his daughter, saying that he has "the power to restrict and limit visitors by any means."
Jamie has officially been handed legal and permanent conservatorship over the singer''s estate almost a year after he was first put in charge of his daughter''s affairs.
Jamie was made a co-conservator of his daughter''s legal, financial and personal dealings in February (08) following a public breakdown in which the singer was entered into hospital to undergo a mental evaluation.
Jamie and Wallet stayed on as co-conservators throughout the remainder of the year (08), overseeing the singer's every move, including plans for her forthcoming Circus tour.
In October (08), a Los Angeles judge made Jamie's control of his daughter''s estate and wealth permanent, and in December (08) he was provided with a payrise from
10,000 dollars to 16,000 dollars a month. (ANI)
