Kingfisher to launch Mumbai-London daily flight on Monday
Vijay Mallya-run private air-carrier Kingfisher Airlines is planning to start daily flight between Mumbai and London from Monday. The move is aimed to expand its overseas operations. The new flight would leave for Heathrow's Terminal at 1.50 pm IST from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Terminal, Mumbai and reach London at 5.55 pm GMT. The company would use brand new Airbus 330-200 aircraft which is configured in two classes namely Kingfisher First and Kingfisher second Class.
Recently, the domestic carrier cut air fair following decline in ATF prices. It is also working on ideas to start flights to new international routes in days to come. New flights between Mumbai-Hong Kong are likely to start from January 12 while Mumbai-Singapore flights are expected to be launched from January 16.
The spokesperson of Kingfisher Airlines said, "We are set to launch our first flight from Mumbai to London tomorrow. The flight has almost 100 per cent occupancy."
Kingfisher has already launched its Bangalore-London flight in September and the proposed Mumbai to London flight is its second overseas route in short time span. New flights from Bangalore and Chennai for Colombo are also commencing from January 19.
