NASA to hold Alabama NASA Space Launch System Supplier Conference

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) collaborated with the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce with an aim to hold the Alabama NASA Space Launch System Supplier Conference on Wednesday.

According to researchers, the space program has an important economic impact in Alabama and leaders are hopeful to grow that impact even more. Latest mission of NASA, the Space Launch System is to send humans into deep space with expectations to reach Mars one day. But according to leaders, that is only possible with the aid of others outside of NASA. Presently, NASA leaders are giving call for businesses in order to help with the mission.

Jody Singer, program manager for the flight programs and partnerships office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center said it has to be within what they work in mission of proceeding with exploration but they are various different companies, different activities and different things that are required.

"We want to make sure we communicate that not only are they looking for rocket scientists. Yes, they are looking for new ideas, but they're also looking for commodities such as ink pens, pencils, and paper. They have to run officers everyday", said Ron Simmons, Vice President of Business Development for the Chamber of Commerce.

Already, one Montgomery Company, Goodwyn, Mills, and Cawood collaborated with another firm on a contract in order to design the Space Launch System test stand. According to the company, it is expected that it is a contract that launch them into even more business.

Al Allenbeck, Vice President of Airport Planning and Engineering with Goodwyn, Mills, and Cawood said that they want to increase on it and it is essential to the company as well as to the country. According to Simmons, these companies should perform well, earn a good profit, generate revenue and should also grow jobs.
