Mickey Rourke to fight Chris Jericho in Wrestle Mania Smackdown

Mickey Rourke to fight Chris Jericho in Wrestle Mania SmackdownWashington, Mar 19 : Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke, who won Golden Globe award for his flick ‘The Wrestler’, is all set to fight real-life wrestler Chris Jericho in Wrestle Mania Smackdown.

Mickey pulled out of the fight to be held in April, as Jericho got offended by his speech at the Screen actors guild awards red carpet.

"I don''t have respect for you... Be careful what you wish for, Mr. Rourke,” Contactmusic quoted Jercho as saying on the Larry King show earlier.

After the war of words between the two on the show, Mickey’s spokesman revealed that he would not be fighting any match.

"Mickey was very honoured to be asked as he has the greatest respect for WWE, however he will not be participating in Wrestlemania. He is focusing entirely on his acting career,” Mickey’s spokesman said.

However, Jericho recently hinted that the match would take place.

"You say you’re going to be at Mania, I’m going to buy you a front row seat, because I want you to see up close and personal what’s going to happen to all your friends, and, unlike your movie The Wrestler, the ending of this isn’t going to be ambiguous. It’s going to be tragic,” Jericho said on the WWE show. (ANI)
