MCI granted augmentation of medical seats for KIMS for next academic year 2010-2011

MCI granted augmentation of medical seats for KIMS for next academic year 2010-2011For the next academic year, Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has been given the approval by Medical Council of India (MCI) to increase their medical seats from 100 to 150.

Before granting sanction for the augmentation of medical seats, MCI team has inspected KIMS on June 23 and 24, told by KIMS, director Dr M G Hiremath.

MCI has granted 430 seats in government colleges in Bidar, Raichur, Shimoga and KIMS in the state, and asked to fill the seats through CET counseling, reported by Dr Hiremath.

Earlier Ketan Desai was heading the previous body and was arrested for corruption charges so MCI is little more conscious in providing any grants and as a protective measure it has ordered for the second inspection on KIMS.
