McDonald's to start selling all-day breakfast in October

McDonald's has been experimenting with all-day breakfast in several markets since months and now the food chain is going to make it available across the nation from October 6. In a bid to turn around slumping sales, McDonald's has been bringing a number of changes, and now it came up with its breakfast all the time.

McDonald’s will offer a selection of muffins or biscuits to customers, depending on the location of the restaurant. Hotcake platters and sausage burritos will also be a part of the menu.

Since March, McDonald's has been testing all-day breakfast and now, it has told the franchisees to get ready for the launch in October.

Presently, the company is dealing with two objectives at odds with one another. They are appeasing unhappy franchisees, wanting to cull the menu, while coming out with new offerings to boost sales.

A McDonald's spokesperson said in July that all-day breakfast ‘is expected to be the number one request’ from customers.

In March, CEO of McDonald's Steve Easterbrook took the reins, inheriting a 15% profit turn down in 2014. Two months later, he came up with a turnaround strategy, which was focused on an internal reorganization and planned to franchise more restaurants. He provided some details about how the company would face two of its biggest challenges, including better food quality and enhance its brand image.

McDonald’s recent announcement has come after competitors’ ramp up their breakfast offerings.
