Juniors asked perform obscene acts as part of ragging in Osmania Medical College Recent case of vulgar ragging at Osmania Medical College (OMC) once again highlights the issue of raging in campus. Despite the various constitutional laws and efforts of educational intuitions new college students are still harassed by seniors.

On April 2, around 10 pm, 26 first year students were called by their seniors on their mess terrace. The students were asked to "strip and perform obscene acts" by their seniors.

First-year students submitted a written complaint of ragging to the college. The OMC vice-principal registered a complaint in Sultan Bazar police, stating that the students of
2007 batch ragged the 2008 batch on their mess terrace on April 2 night.

Sultan Bazaar inspector P Jaipal, said: "In the complaint, the students said that they were humiliated and driven to do obscene acts by their seniors. It is a clear case of ragging."

Police arrested eleven students were arrested. College authorities constituted a committee to look into the matter. If students were found guilty they would be expelled from the college.
