Indian representatives to be appointed in Malaysian GLCs
Kuala Lumpur, Apr 12 : Indian representatives must be appointed to all Malaysia Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) to ensure dissemination of information on opportunities, policies and benefits to the community.
This included appointments in state government agencies, statutory bodies, port authorities and quasi government bodies, the paper quoted a statement by the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI), Makkal Osai, a Tamil daily reported.
MAICCI secretary-general S. Rengasamy said that candidates from business and professional circles must be appointed based on experience and expertise.
He said many of these GLCs and other relevant bodies had no Indian representation, going against the multi-racial composition on an equal opportunity basis, the Star Online reported. (ANI)
