India may buy more Boeing aircraft
Military aircraft maker, Boeing said that Indian government may buy another 10-12 C-17 transport planes of Boeing in the coming time.
Already deal for buying 10 aircraft has been signed said Christopher Chadwick, president of Boeing military aircraft to Reuters.
Boeing is the second biggest defense contract in US and has seen a strong increase in demand for its C-17 planes. These planes were used heavily in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and were considered to be fully efficient.
Since then Boeing has managed to raise multiple parties in the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region who are interested in C-17. More so, the NATO countries are also quite interested in the cargo planes that Boeing has developed.
During the interview, he also said that in all Boeing is planning to sell 20 more C-17 transporters to foreign clients in the period of next five to ten years. Out of these, 10 have already been kept aside for India.
But looking at the kind of expenditure that India is doing on the defense front, the order can be increased eventually.
