Indian team has defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets in the second ODI match of the tri-series at Colombo on Friday. Indian team has qualified for the final of the tri-series with this win over New Zealand.

Indian team was given a target of 156 runs by New Zealand. India chased the target with 6 wickets to spare. Sachin Tendulakar scored 46 runs while S Raina contributed unbeaten 45 runs with the bat. Indian skipper M Dhoni also scored unbeaten 35 runs.

Indian team was once struggling with four wickets down at the score of 84 runs but after that Dhoni and Raina batted carefully on slow track to lead India to convincing win.

With this win, Indian team has dethroned South Africa from the No1 position in the ICC ODI rankings and they are now ranked no 1 in the world. This is first time in the history of Indian cricket that they have been placed at top position in the ODI rankings.
