I will play my usual style of cricket: Mohammad Yousuf
Lahore, Oct 8 : As the second Test match between Pakistan and South Africa got underway here today, batsman Mohammad Yousuf said he is ready to support his team by demonstrating his usual style of cricket.
"I was away from cricket for the past couple of months but during the past five days I did my best to be in a good shape to play my usual style of cricket", The News quoted Yousuf, as saying.
"I rate my team as favourites for the Lahore Test," said Yousuf.
"The second Test will not be that easy for South Africa as our players are now more focused and (better) prepared for a challenge," he added.
Talking about Inzamam-ul-Haq, he said, "We also have Inzamam, who can be a threat to the opponents."
The ICC Test Player of the Year said, "As far as I am concerned this Test will be my first game after a break but I am confident that I will perform the way I was doing in the past."
"I have been playing cricket with my head down without fearing the status of the opposition and that is why I was able to become the highest run-scorer in a year, for which I am thankful to God," he said.
Praising Captain Shoaib Malik for his job, Yousuf said, "He is a good all-rounder and a good captain. He can be an asset for the team in the years to come."
Commenting on the South African team, he said, "The opponents have some good players like Smith, Kallis and Steyn, but we have a strong batting line-up and a good bowling attack with both pacers and spinners. I am confident of my team’s victory." (ANI)
