Yoga as a form of exercise has been catching on in the Western world of late. However a recent video of a Playmate practicing the ‘Asanas’ in the buff have left the Hindu leaders frothing in the mouth with rage.

Sara Jean Underwood, the winner of the playmate of the year in 2007 has recently released a video which shows her going through several yoga postures in the nude.

The promotional material of the video says that Sara Jean Underwood wants the people to understand the various postures and positions of yoga which are known as ‘asanas’.

Hindu leaders have asked the company to withdraw the video immediately as it demeans an age old system which is revered by the followers of the ancient religion. Yoga, is in fact, considered to be one of the chief orthodox practices in Hindu philosophy says Rajan Zed, a Hindu statesman. Playboy should not demean the esteemed tradition of Yoga for reasons based on  plain mercantile greed. Such a move would hurt the Hindu sentiments deeply concluded Rajan.

The Playboy website however declares Yoga to be a ‘great place for meeting girls’.

Footage of Underwood doing yoga in the nude is available on the Internet now and the Playboy is also reportedly trying to market a Tai Chi video which shows the age old art being practiced in the nude.
