Grey wolves spotted in California
According to Wildlife experts in California, sightings of some grey wolves in the Northern California indicate recovery of the species. The animal has been spotted for the first time after about nine decades. The experts said that the creature rarely pose threat to humans.
After the sightings of the animal, a discussion on the recovery of the animals that disappeared for almost a century, have started. As per reports, in May, the California Department of fish and Wildlife took photos of a wolf on a trail camera.
According to Jordan Traverso, "So a couple of intuitive biologists decided to put a few more trail cameras in some areas that they thought they might spot some wolves. It's really exciting because this is the first time that gray wolves have been established back in California since 1924".
After some time, it was confirmed by biologists that there was not just one wolf, but a pack of seven wolves. The pack had two adults, possibly parents, and their five babies.
The wildlife experts were also excited in 2011 when a collared lone wolf labeled OR-7 crossed into California from Oregon for a brief period.
As per the reports, the new wolf pack was spotted in a rural area of Siskiyou County. According to the experts, it is difficult to tell what the recovery of the species indicates.
