Google celebrates New Horizons’ historic flyby with adorable doodle
Google came up with an adorable doodle to celebrate the planned historic flyby of NASA's New Horizons spacecraft around dwarf planet Pluto. The Google homepage displayed New Horizons spacecraft going fast past the icy dwarf planet.
Kevin Laughlin created the doodle to honor New Horizons' heroic journey to Pluto's far away corner of the solar system.
New Horizons took nine years and three billion miles to reach the final destination. The probe will be passing from a part which is only 12,500 kilometres of the surface of Pluto.
NASA mentioned that the amazing journey and discovery by New Horizons is going to be one of the greatest space related discoveries.
The doodle by Google showed New Horizons' nine-year-old aimed job. The approximation of the Pluto shown in the doodle cartoon flaunted the similar heart-shaped geographical feature that created a hum on internet previous week.
All the scientific measurements and images will be taken by the spacecraft along the way. Google said, "Earth is getting its first chance for an up close and personal peek at Pluto, the ball of rock and ice orbiting at the furthest edge of our solar system".
According to Google, the pictures that New Horizons is going to send back to Earth will be first of its kind and very informative for scientists. By using the pictures, scientists will be able to paint a brighter and clear picture of Pluto.
