GM to come with BSIV version of Tavera in 2011As per a high ranking official of the General Motors India, the automaker is going to come out with the BS IV version of Tavera in India by 2011.

Talking to media, General Motors India Managing Director Karl Slym said that they have concluded the agreement with International Cars and Motors Ltd (ICML) and because of this they will soon be able to roll out the BS IV version.

Tavera, the powerterrain fitted car, he said is capable to being upgraded to BS V version. It will touch the markets by January 1 of next year while all other BS IV variant too will be available by that time.

The BS IV version is going to have a 2-litre CRDi engine. This is will be slightly higher on the cost front but the difference with the existing variant is not going to be much.

As f now, GM makes premium SUV Captiva, mid size sedan Optra, premium sedan Cruze, midsize sedan Aveo, hatchbacks Aveo U-VA, Spark, Beat and SUV Tavera. All these cars are manufactured in the Halol unit in Gujarat and in Talegaon, Maharashtra.
