The BCCI has moved the Supreme Court challenging a Calcutta High Court directive to start criminal proceedings against its six top officials on the charge of filing false affidavits in the Jagmohan Dalmiya expulsion case.

A baggy green cap worn by late Sir Don Bradman during the 1948 'invincibles' Ashes Tour is all set to fetch a record-breaking 600,000 Australian dollars when it goes under the hammer at an auction here on December 15.

The cap was bought by one Tim Serisier after he won $250,000 in reality show ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’. Serisier now wants to auction the cap and though auctioneer Charles Leski says a better timing could have fetched a higher price, the piece of record can still invite a bulky bid in the range of $600,000 to 750,000.

While the Mumbai attacks have thrown India’s right to the 2011 World Cup in serious doubts, former BCCI president Sharad Pawar has dismissed speculation that the tournament was under threat.

Speaking with a private news-channel, Pawar said, “There is still some time for that and I am confident our government will take corrective actions.”

Pawar, who is also the Union Agriculture Minister in the Indian government, said, following the Mumbai attacks, the security measures would become even tougher so that no such incidents get repeated.

The England cricket team is likely to return to India on December 3 for the next rounds of Test series against India. Earlier, the UK team returned, following security threats in the wake of the terror attack in Mumbai. The team was playing fifth ODI in Cuttack on Wednesday when Mumbai came under terror attack, leading to the suspension of the forthcoming matches.

The security issue has become very important for the next matches in Indian fields. England captain Kevin Pietersen hoped that security adviser Reg Dickason would allow them to play ODI matches.

The forthcoming Champions League is expected to be rescheduled following the security threats in the wake on Mumbai terror attack. The matches are likely to take place in January next year as per reports. The chief executive of the Champions League is under pressure to revise the match schedule on security grounds and availability of players. However, the decision in this regard is not yet taken.

ECB expressed hope to the beginning of the Test tour, following a security report in the next 48 hours. Hugh Morris, the ECB's managing director disclosed this in a press conference on Saturday.

Morris told, "The only reason why we decided to suspend the tour and return home was to assess the safety situation in India in a comfortable environment." He further added, "The ECB was waiting for a security report of the situation in India within the next 24 to 48 hours and a decision would be taken on Monday."
