Coimbatore, Mar 23: A. Sivathanu Pillai, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Brahmos Aerospace, has said that the supersonic cruise missile BrahMos will be inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) by 2012.
Pillai was interacting with media at a function here on Sunday as he spoke at length about the programme for integration of the Brahmos missile on an airborne platform.
Washington, Mar 23 : Scientists, co-led by an Indian-origin researcher, have identified 10 genes associated with sudden cardiac death (SCD), which is usually caused by irregular heart rhythms.
Goncalo Abecasis, associate professor of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, says that scientists are now closer to understanding what causes SCD and who may be its victim.
Abecasis co-led the study with Aravinda Chakravarti of Johns Hopkins to identify genetic defects associated with sudden cardiac death.

Washington, March 23 : NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has identified a star that was one million times brighter than the Sun before it exploded as a supernova in 2005.
According to current theories of stellar evolution, the star should not have self-destructed so early in its life.

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 23 : In view of increasing awareness and educating the citizens to conserve the coral reefs, the Indian Army on Sunday launched the Bison Blue Waters Expedition in the island of Agatti in Lakshadweep.
The expedition was flagged off by General Commanding Officer of Bison division Major General Rajesh Singh.
The event, attended by civil and military officials, citizens and school children, kick started with a beach marathon. The marathon witnessed a huge participation of school children, who ran along with army men on the beach.
