Melbourne, Jan 20: Two Burmese men, who were rescued after they were found in the Torres Strait off Queensland in a giant icebox, revealed that they had been drifting for 25 days after their fishing boat sank.

Their boat had sunk southeast of Indonesia, and they had drifted hundreds of kilometres in the red icebox before a Coastwatch plane spotted them on January 17 about 60 nautical miles off Horn Island, in the Torres Strait.

According to the Courier-Mail, the two men revealed that that they were forced to crew a 10m-long Thai fishing boat that broke up about 200 nautical miles north of Australia.

Mumbai, Jan 20 : Maharashtra Police will file a chargesheet in connection with the Malegaon blast case before a Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act
(MCOCA) court. The police is not expected to seek an extension for filing the chargesheet.

The court will also hear bail application of the five main alleged perpetrators in the September 29 Malegaon blasts, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Lt Col S P Purohit, who was working with Military Intelligence, Ajay Rahirkar, Shivnarayan Kalsangra and Sham Sahu.

Sultanpur/Pratapgarh (UP), Jan 20 : In a bizarre incident, around 200 people fell off the roof of a running train on Monday night in Uttar Pradesh. They were swept off by a tree branch.

Around 800 people were sitting atop the Saryu Express, which plies between Allahabad and Faizabad, when they were swept off by near Sultanpur.

The victim, all young men, were going from Allahabad for an Army recruitment drive. They were forced to ride on the train''s roof as there was no space inside the train.

London, Jan 19: Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns has become the first non-Royal to be honoured with three collections of stamps.

Burns, whose new edition of stamps will be unveiled by the Royal Mail this week, has outdone even wartime leader Winston Churchill, who got just two editions, and William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens, who both got just one edition each, reports the Scotsman.
