London, Feb 16:

Santiago de Chile  - Thirteen people died in a helicopter crash in the central Maule region of Chile while on a forest fire- fighting mission, according to a report on Chilean television, Channel 13.

Civil aeronautics officials said the pilot and 12 fire brigade members died in the crash.

Colonel Luis Gutierrez, prefect of Linares, said there appeared to be no survivors, and that recovery of bodies will be difficult from the remote site of the accident.

The accident took place about 1600 Sunday.

London, Feb 14: The only living survivor of the Titanic disaster, Millvina Dean, is selling off her memorabilia of the legendary liner to pay for her nursing care.

The 97-year-old woman is auctioning nearly 17 items of her Titanic memorabilia to pay monthly bills of up to 3,000 pounds.

Dean is currently living in The Woodlands Ridge Nursing Home on the outskirts of Southampton, from where she set sail aboard the Titanic on April 10, 1912.

She was just nine weeks old when the Titanic disaster occurred.

Washington, Feb 14: A biologist has warned that cheap Valentine roses exported for sale in the UK from Kenya is having a devastating effect on the ecology of Lake Naivasha, which is the centre of Kenya's horticultural industry.

Dr David Harper, ecology and conservation biologist at the University of Leicester, who has conducted research for over 25 years at Lake Naivasha in Kenya, warned that cut-price Valentine roses exported for sale in the UK were `bleeding that country dry'.
