Rome - Genoa moved up to fourth place in the Italian Serie A Saturday, winning 1-0 away to 10-man Cagliari through a late goal from substitute Ruben Olivera.

After an evenly balanced and fairly slow-paced half hour, Cagliari had a first chance when Uruguayan Diego Lopez headed against the post on 35 minutes.

However, the Sardinia hosts' had their efforts seriously hampered four minutes later as midfielder Andrea Cossu was sent off with a second booking.

London  - Liverpool burst back into the English Premier League title race on Saturday with a stunning 4-1 win at Manchester United to cut the gap between themselves and the champions at the top to just four points.

London  - Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard praised his side's character after their stunning 4-1 defeat of champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Gerrard, who scored the equalizing goal after United had taken the lead through a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty, claimed it was a "magnificent win" for the Merseyside club.

"It was a great team performance and we worked very hard today. We showed great character to come back from a goal down and it was a magnificent win", the Liverpool captain said after the match.

Wolfsburg, Germany  - Brazilian striker Grafite scored a hat-trick as Wolfsburg downed crisis-hit Schalke 4-3 to move within a point of leaders Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga on Friday.

Grafite scored from the penalty spot in the 26th minute and was again on target in the 74th and 84th minutes to take his tally to the season to 17.

The Brazilian also provided the cross for Bosnian strike partner Edin Dzeko to score Wolfsburg's second shortly before half-time.
