Fuel hike is minimal – Deora

Fuel hike is minimal – DeoraAfter the opposition disrupted the proceedings in the parliament demanding the fuel price hike across the country, the petroleum Minister has declined any roll back of the fuel hike saying that why should the government pay Rs. 5,000 crore per quarter for the petrol being used in anyone's car? Moreover, Deora also pointed out the fact that there hasn't been any hike for the past four years and the recent hike in just minimal.

In fact, the minister also said that if the opposition has to unite they must unite for something good.

It is to be mentioned here that the Government unveiled a plan to deregulate the fuel prices and hence the prices will now be moving on free market movement.

The implementation has so far been on petrol and the Government also said that there is no plan to extend it to diesel for now. In fact, the rise in the fuel prices was done with an aim to reduce the subsidy burden on oil marketing companies.

The government now has a plan to release more funds for social sector schemes in the areas of health, education and food security.
