Ford Invites its Customers to Rent their Vehicles

A total of 14,000 people in the US who made use of Ford Credit to purchase their cars will be invited for the pilot program. Ford Motor Credit will be collaborating with two car-sharing companies, Getaround in the US and easyCar Club in London.

As per Ford, over the next five years, it is looking forward to increase research on advanced safety technology, together with automatic braking for its vehicle range. According to the company, “As most vehicles are parked and out of use much of the time, this can help us gauge our customers’ desires to pick up extra cash and keep their vehicles in use”.

Ford launched a third iteration of an eBike under the multimodal mobility banner, naming the MoDe:Flex that can be folded and stored inside any vehicle of the company and the battery can be charged as the bike is stowed.

As per reports, it was expected, so it would be something naive to disagree that it’s in some way a bad idea, especially because Ford is attempting to please a wider consumer base.

Mark Fields, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company, said that they are testing the idea of satisfying demand and generate money from it.

Ford Motor Co. is putting more efforts in the car-sharing business by helping owners of its models lease their cars when they are not in use. As per reports, the auto owners can provide their vehicles for short-term rental to pre-screened customers in Berkeley, Oakland and San Francisco, California; Chicago; Portland, Oregon and Washington D.C.
