European Government keeps an eye on internet searches via EWS

internet-searchThe European Parliament might soon install an Early Warning System (EWS) to keep a tab on pedophiles using the internet.

In lieu of this matter, the Parliament has asked its members to sign the 'Declaration 29' which will execute the Directive 2006/24/EC (Data Retention Directive) that aids in tackling of the offenders more effectively.

However this step has drawn criticism from some members of the parliament.

Pertinent members such as Christian Engstrom and Cecilia Wikstrom have warned their fellow members to take caution in agreeing for the declaration and said that this directive is a misleading approach.

This step which is taken in welfare of the people has caused a stir in members as they claim this step to be a non-reproductive and might sway in another direction.

At present the declaration has gained a 'Yes' from 324 signatures.
