Dolphin Safely rescued but a Woman her Ankles in the incident

Hardly would have Chrissie Frickman imagined that her family excursion to celebrate her wedding anniversary would end up in such a fiasco. Chrissie broke her ankle when a dolphin jumped onto her family's boat in southern California.

Chrissie Frickman was accompanied by her husband Dirk and their two children on the boat, cruising off Dana Point Harbor on June 21. A pod of passing by dolphins, proved harmful when suddenly one of them leaped onto the boat, landing on top of Mrs Frickman.

Dirk got into action at once and pulled Chrissie out from beneath the panicking dolphin. Dirk told the Orange County Register, "It hit my wife and knocked her over, and punched my daughter. I had this 350lb dolphin in my boat. There was no way to get it off".

Dirk called the authorities at the Orange County harbor while he kept on splashing water on the panicking intruder in order to keep it alive. The dolphin was bleeding as it had sustained wounds and cuts from the back of the boat.

As the 350 pound dolphin took the ill fated leap, it first struck the railing and then landed with a thud on the boat. The humungous creature injured its nose and its tail and was profusely bleeding.

Officials from the Sheriff's Department Harbor Patrol helped the Frickman family. The dolphin was pulled on to the dock with a rope and was then safely released back into the water.

The traumatized, Mrs Frickman, was rushed to the hospital where she is still recovering after undergoing five hours of surgery to her ankles.
