Dolphin leaps onto Family boat
A dolphin jumped onto a family boat off the coast of San Diego. She crashed into a woman and broke both her ankles. The woman was along with her husband and two children celebrating her 18th wedding anniversary when the incident took place.
The incident took place on June 21. Chrissie Frickman said they were boating and saw a pod of dolphins swimming alongside their boat. And, all of sudden a dolphin leaped onto their boat, breaking both of her ankles.
The woman's husband, Dirk Frickamn, said that it seemed that the dolphin was doing a flip, but its calculation proved wrong and landed on their boat. The 350-pound whale first banged the railing and then entered in the boat.
It fell between chairs and was unable to escape on its own. The dolphin made many efforts and due to which, it injured itself. It suffered cuts on its nose and tail and was even bleeding. Dirk said that he reached to his wife and contacted the Sheriff's Department Harbor Patrol and headed back to Dana Point Harbor in Orange County.
Throughout the journey, the family ensured that the dolphin should not die. They kept it hydrated by putting water on it. Officials from the Sheriff's Department Harbor Patrol were able to identify the boat and provided them assistance.
The officials helped Chrissie and their daughter to reach safely to the shore, where an ambulance was waiting to take them to hospital. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said that they could not imagine such an incident could take place and termed it to be freaky one. The dolphin was also released and it quickly swam off.
