Delta Aquarids meteor shower is most attractive
According to reports, the meteor shower began on July 12 and the view can be enjoyed till August 23. It will occur at Townline BBQ in Sagaponack and a tour of the night sky will be guided by Professors Mike Inglis and Sean Tvelia. The Delta Aquarids meteor shower would be seen using Montauk Observatory telescopes.
According to Julia Morris, Manager Townline BBQ, "We have tapped kegs for the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter, new moons, Venus' greatest eastern elongation, full moons and Saturn reaching its opposition". It is called a "blue moon" for the reason that it's the second full moon this month.
The last Blue Moon appeared back in August 2012. Just like all full moonrises, it is expected to offer some attractive photo opportunities. It is being thought that this year's shower could be not that easy to observe for the reason that the peak concurs with the glaring and almost-full moon.
Some astronomers say that Perseid meteor shower is considered as the most attractive one, when it comes to all annual sky displays. According to Morris, "Slooh astronomer Bob Berman and I will be exploring what meteors are, how to see them and what we can learn".
The constellation could be too faint to observe, however attendees can see they are looking in the right direction as a result of the nearby bright star Fomalhaut located near Aquarius. As per experts, particles enter the atmosphere at over 93,000 miles per hour and then burn up in a brief streak of light.
