Dannii Minogue’s salary as X Factor judge to be doubled

London, Feb 25 : The speculation that Aussie singer Dannii Minogue may soon step down from her role as co-judge on the X Factor show has finally ended, with reports suggesting that she will be staying on after being told that her salary will be doubled.

Minogue, 37, has been earning 500,000 pounds-a-series, but now the amount will be doubled to bring it at par with fellow judge Cheryl Cole's seven-figure contract.

When the `Home and Away' star said that she was leaving, there was speculation that she would be replaced by Posh Spice or Lily Allen, a fact which has been refuted by Simon Cowell at Elton John's party in LA's Pacific Centre.

"As far as the judging panel is concerned, let's just say that if I was a betting man my money would be on Dannii returning to the show," the Mirror quoted him as saying.

"She was great last year and I am adamant she should be there for the next series. All being well, pen will be put to paper this week.

"Despite all the fuss concerning Dannii and Cheryl, I think the four judges worked really well together and gelled. There was an excellent chemistry.

"There's been a lot of rubbish written about just who will be on the show, with people like Victoria Beckham supposedly in the frame. That was absolute nonsense - I never approached her," he added.

Minogue had been feeling useless and less loved after Cole joined the show, and felt that she should quit.

"She feels she has been a bit redundant but Simon pleaded with her to stay and has offered her a much more lucrative deal, doubling her 500,000 pounds fees to 1million pounds," a source said.

"The new deal will put her on a par with Cheryl, who has also been offered 1million pounds to stay on for the next series. The deal includes the spin-off ITV2 show, promotion and other commitments.

"Dannii is very excited and can't wait to sign on the dotted line," the source added. (ANI)
