Custom Officials Seize Drugs Worth $22.5 Million In Hong Kong
Custom officers in Hong Kong have seized synthetic drugs valued at $22.5 million in the international market.
According to officials, this was one of the largest drug rackets ever cracked in the country.
As per reports, the officials have detained 5 suspects aged between 25 and 60.
All of them will be charged with manufacturing hazardous drug or trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts on Saturday.
They seized approximately 70 kg of methamphetamine, 70 litres of liquid methamphetamine and 200 litres of semi-processed liquid methamphetamine during the operation.
As per Hong Kong's drug acts, maximum punishment for making and trading of drugs is lifetime detention and a fine of five million Hong Kong dollars. (With Inputs from Agencies)
