The report added that approximately 209,034 people have been treated with the deadly disease as of January 24.

The Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) asked for an inquiry to verify the continuation of possible infectivity in hospitals or homes via medication, food or other sources.

The endemic, with a total fatality toll of 1.9%, has caused so far the record number of deaths in Artibonite's Northern Province, where 857 people lost their lives.

The next is Ouest comprising the capital with 653 casualties, Nord with 612, and Grand'Anse with 610.

As per reports, cholera's first case was noticed in October 16 in Artibonite, Haiti.

The scant sanitation and lack of hygiene in the country, demolished by a tremor on January 11, 2010, have assisted the illness to increase.

Cuba and Venezuela are helping Haiti with medical provisions, sanitation items and expert staff to treat the disease.
