China To Suspend Import Of Jeep Wrangler Over Safety Issues
China announced that it would suspend import of Jeep Wrangler vehicles owing to a serious potential safety risk.
The country's product quality supervisory body stated that lots of vehicles caught fire suddenly.
In a declaration, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) stated that probes discovered that the fires were the outcome of a trouble in the vehicles' mechanical transmission systems.
The administration did not talk about whether these occurrences lead to casualties.
The AQSIQ urged Chrysler Group LLC, Jeep's manufacturer to settle on the reason of the troubles and solve them.
"Before that, the manufacturer and importers should take precautionary measures for the vehicles involved to ensure consumers' safety," the AQSIQ stated.
