Research team led by Sean Nordt, MD, of the University of California revealed that chewable medicine is more effective.

During study, 14 people ages of 20 and 61 were given three different types of aspirin. First group was asked to swallow regular solid aspirin tablets. The second group was asked to chew the pill before swallowing it. The third group was given chewable aspirin tablets.

Then level of aspirin in blood of study subjects was measured. Data analysis revealed that the chewable aspirin had the greatest and fastest absorption rates.
