New York, Mar 6 : The fastest Lamborghini ever built - the limited edition Veneno, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show with its 3.9 million-dollar price tag, sold out its limited run of three vehicles.

It features a 12-cylinder engine capable of reaching 220 miles per hour, the New York Daily News reported.

Lamborghini hopes to use the Veneno as a testing ground for new materials and technologies that it will eventually introduce to its less limited-edition lineup.

Harley-Davidson has decided to start assembling three more models of its bikes in India, a move that will allow the company to make significant cuts in prices.

The iconic bike-manufacturer announced that it would start assembling Heritage Softail Classic, Fat Boy, and Fat Boy Special bikes in India.  This way the company will be able to avoid heavy import duties, and cut prices by nearly Rs 4 lakh on these three models.

Despite economic slowdown and the recently announced duty hikes for luxury cars in the budget, German luxury carmaker Audi is confident that it will be able to achieve its goal of 20 per cent growth this year.

Sticking to its annual sales and growth targets, Audi said that it was confident that it would be able to achieve its ambitious annual sales target of 10,800 units in 2013.

The Indian unit of automotive giant, Ford has launched a new marketing campaign titled, `EcoSport Urban Discoveries' in order to promote the company's upcoming compact SUV in the country.

Indian automotive giant, Tata Motors is planning to reduce the price of its models by between Rs. 29,000 and Rs. 50,000 in an effort to boost demand in Indian market.

The company, however, is also planning to increase the price of its sport-utility vehicles (SUVs) by between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 35,000 in order to absorb the higher costs and an increase in excise tax. The new prices have come into effect from Saturday but the Mumbai-based auto maker is yet to announce the changes in prices officially.

India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India   has said that that its sales have fallen during the month of February mostly in line with expectations mainly due to weak demand in the domestic Indian market.

In a new announcement, bigwig automaker Ford has revealed that, at a March 4-scheduled function in New Delhi, it will rollout the Figo Celebration Edition to mark the third anniversary of the launch of the hatchback in India.

Auto maker, Chevrolet is planning to launch an upgraded version of its Captiva at the upcoming 2013 Geneva Auto Show with a host of impressive enhancements.

The company said that the new model's front fascia will come with a new grille mesh, a lower bumper and redesigned fog lamps. The company is also offering new 18-inch alloy wheels for the upgraded version of the car. The rear of the car will now feature new LED lamps, a remodelled bumper and chrome exhaust tips.

UK's luxury carmaker, which is a unit of India's Tata Motors, has launched the impressive Jaguar XJ Ultimate Edition variant in Indian market.

The Ultimate Edition of the vehicle will be available only in long wheelbase version, the XJ-L in the Indian market. The new version will come with some exterior changes including the new air intake and new exclusive 20-inch Maroa forged alloy wheels that will come with a dual-tone color scheme.

The oval exhaust tips will now come with polished stainless steel and an Ultimate badge.

Expanding its safety probe into Ford Motor Co.'s vehicles, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recently revealed that it has initiated an investigation into complaints pertaining to the engine stalling and surging issues on some of the Ford vehicles of model years 2009 through 2011.

Revealing that it has received 1,448 complaints involving the alleged engine issue, the NHTSA said that the investigation will affect nearly 724,982 Ford vehicles, including Escape compact SUVs and Fusion sedans, as well as Mercury Mariner SUVs and Milan sedans.

Indian auto giant Tata Motors is mulling plans to launch new vehicles, including an all new mini SUV, to boost sales and expand its market share.

Tata Motors, which suffered a decline of 52 per cent in net profit in the October-December quarter, has plans to launch several new vehicles in the SUV space.

While rivals like Mahindra and Ford are cashing in on the soaring popularity of SUVs, Tata Motors is suffering declining sales and mounting losses.

As many as 1,000 companies in the Gurgaon to Bawal industrial belt stopped production today, Thursday, in support of the ongoing 48-hour nationwide strike by central trade unions that started Wednesday.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd, Hero Motocorp, Rico Auto, Sona stearing and Sunbeam are some of the many companies where production came to a standstill today. Estimates suggest that nearly 1.5 lakh workers are on the strike.

According to reports, German automaker BMW's recent announcement of a worldwide recall of over half a million cars, due to an electrical fault which causes the engine to stall, will affect 32 cars in New Zealand.

As per the reports, the 32 BMW vehicles affected by the recall in New Zealand include a mix of 1 Series and 3 Series, from the model years of between 2007 and 2011. The vehicles identified for the recall in the country will be checked for a flawed battery connection which leads to the halting of the vehicles.

Indian automotive giant, Tata Motors has said that it is planning to launch a new version of its Aria utility vehicle priced below Rs 10 lakh in the country to tap into the growing demand in the segment in the country.

The new variant, which will compete with the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova, will be priced at about Rs 9.95 lakh. Tata Motors' head of utility vehicles division Ashesh Dhar said that the company will soon launch a LX 4x2 variant of Aria in the country.

Sydney, Feb 17  : BMW is recalling almost 570,000 cars in the US and Canada to fix a flaw in a battery cable connector that can cause the engines to stall.

The recall affects the popular 3-Series sedans, wagons, convertibles and coupes from the 2007 through 2011 model years.

Also included are 1-Series coupes and convertibles from 2008 through 2012, and the Z4 sports car from 2009 through 2011, News. com. au reports.

Jaguar Land Rover, a unit of India's Tata Motors, has said that it has recorded an increase of 32 per cent in sales during the month of January. The UK-based company was able to sell 34,877 units during the month with strong growth recorded in the Asian region. 

The company's sales rose by whopping 74 per cent during January 2013 compared to the same month of the previous year.  The company's sales in Asia-pacific region grew 46 per cent in the month compared to January of 2012.

Brokerages remained bullish on Tata Motors' stock, despite the vehicle manufacturer reported unsatisfactory earnings for the October-December quarter.

Tata Motors consolidated net profit in the October-December quarter slipped 52 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,628 crore, despite an increase of 2 per cent in revenue to Rs 46,090 crore. Analysts had projected profit of Rs 2,250 crore on revenue of Rs 47,277 crore.

German automobile giant, Volkswagen has announced the launch of its new the Polo SR for the Indian market.

The new model will be powered by a 1.2L petrol engine, which is capable of producing 75 PS of power. It comes with 5 speed manual transmission system and the company claims that model will offer a mileage of 16.27 kmpl. VW Polo SR hatchback will come with an Aero Sport package including front, rear and side under skirting, rear roof spoiler, 15 inch alloy wheels and chrome exhaust.
