Bosch Seeking Permission to Establish Plant in ChennaiIt has been reported that Bosch, world’s largest producer of home appliances, is seeking permission from Indian authorities to establish a unit in Chennai. It is good news for the country as it will lead to increase in revenue however the final decision is yet to be taken by the concerned authorities.

There are a number of international manufacturers who do have plants in India and continues to invest. Recently, Samsung invested an amount of over $100 million at its unit located in Sriperumbudur. Panasonic is also one of the foreign manufacturers who have their plants in the country. It also invests Rs 479.27 crore to establish its units in the Sriperumbudur.

It has been reported that the proposal made by the Bosch pertains to an agreement in which Bosch together with Siemens Group will be investing an amount of Rs 500 crore at Chennai to launch their units.

As per the agreement, the duo has appealed the state government to provide them an area of 42 acres at Sipcot Industrial Park in Pillaipakkam, which is near to Sriperumbudur where Samsun plant is located. It has come to light that if the plant is allowed to be established in Chennai then it would create about 2,000 jobs in the area.
