Bobcats sign Juwan Howard

Bobcats sign Juwan Howard Los Angeles- The Charlotte Bobcats continue to make changes, signing former All-Star forward Juwan Howard on Friday, and waiving seldom-used forward Dwayne Jones.

"We are glad to be able to add Juwan to our team," Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins said in a statement. "We feel his experience and leadership will have a positive impact both on and off the court."

The move comes just two days after the Bobcats acquired Boris Diaw, Raja Bell and Sean Singletary from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Jason Richardson and forward Jared Dudley.

Selected as the fifth overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft, the 6- foot-9 (206-centimeter) Howard was named to the 1996 Eastern Conference All-Star team.

For his 15-year career, Howard owns averages of 15.3 points, 6.8 rebounds in 1,004 games with Washington, Dallas, Denver, Orlando and Houston.

Jones played in six games for Charlotte, averaging 2.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in 8.7 minutes played. (dpa)
