BJP''s Venkaiah Naidu slams Manmohan Singh on 2G scamHyderabad, Sep 29 : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader M. Venkaiah Naidu has attacked Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh over the 2G spectrum allocation scam by accusing him of having diverted the country''s attention from the massive financial scam.

Talking to reporters here, Naidu said: " Please explain; you are the Prime Minister, you are duty bound to take the country to confidence you can not make such wild allegations. You want to divert the attention of the people from your failures, you want to divert the attention from this massive scam, corruption; so that is why you are saying forces are trying to destabilise!"

"Manmohan Singh has levelled wild allegations as late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who used to say that in every incident there was a foreign hand," he added.

He also lashed out at the Congress party for protecting its own ministers who have and are currently being linked with the scam.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has clarified his stand on the scam after mediapersons quizzed him over his and the Congress party''s role during his stint in the Prime Ministers Office in New Delhi.

"As you know in any department or cabinet, work is divided and if you have tried to find it out then this division is available on the websites and according to that, the work is allotted. The BJP has opened an entire Right to Information department and action would be taken after information is revealed of where all I have signed and advised," said Chavan.

The telecom scam, one of India''s biggest graft cases ever, may have cost 39.57 billion dollars in revenue to the public exchequer as per the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). (ANI)
