BJP slams UPA Government on inflation
Kanpur, Apr 29 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed the policies of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government over the rising prices of essentials in the country.
Staging a demonstration here, the party activists launched a mock Sonia Gandhi homeopathic clinic where the common man could get small doses of food, which is all he can afford.
"Just as homeopathic medicines are administered in small droplets, thanks to the UPA government, the man on the street has to be satisfied with small quantities of food. A man who managed to eat one loaf of bread a day is no longer able to afford even half a loaf," said Satish Mahana, a party activist.
Another activist termed the present Congress-led UPA Government as pro-rich and anti-poor.
"The policies of the government are wrong. Under this regime, hoarders and the rich stand to benefit and the farmers and poor are suppressed and inflation levels are phenomenal in the country," said Premlata Katyal, another activist.
Earlier, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram had said that every measure within the power of the government has been taken and would be taken to calm inflation being largely driven by high international commodity and food prices. (ANI)
