Big Brother bosses may snub Jade Goody in 10th anniversary launch
London, Mar 26 : ‘Big Brother’ bosses might just give cold-shoulder to tragic Jade Goody by not giving any special mention to her death in the launch of the 10th series.
The reality show’s chiefs have confirmed that they are not planning any tribute for the show’s most famous star.
Goody will only be featured in two special anniversary programmes, along with every other housemate.
The news might send a wave of fury among fans expecting their favourite housemate, who died of cancer on March 22, to be honoured when the show kicks off in May.
According to reports earlier this year, Jade would have had a starring role in the launch of this summer’s landmark series, as TV chiefs had been planning to include her in the huge 10-year celebrations.
But Channel 4 bosses have now revealed that Jade did not feature in their latest anniversary plans.
“We are not planning anything specific. It is just not something we have considered,” the Daily Star quoted head of programming Julian Bellamy as saying.
However, an insider claimed that the launch was still in the early stages, and that nothing had been decided.
The source also said that chances were still there that Jade could be remembered in some way, even if it was just a small mention.
“Jade was such an iconic housemate I am sure there will be an element of remembrance for her. But as far as I know there is no specific tribute show planned,” added the insider.
Jade’s spokesman Max Clifford, 65, said that it would be shameful if there was no tribute to her, and claimed that she would always be remembered by fans.
“Jade was by far the most famous person to have emerged from Big Brother. So I am sure that will be recognised as a tribute to her,” he said.
A Big Brother spokesman said: “There will be no tribute show but things are still in the very early stages.” (ANI)
