Bhardwaj slams Sanjay Dutt for his comment

Bhardwaj slams Sanjay Dutt for his comment New Delhi, Apr 2 : Union Law Minister H. R. Bhardwaj on Thursday slammed Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt for his statement that an aide of a senior minister of the Congress party threatened him.

A day after the Supreme Court ruled that Dutt cannot run for the ensuing general elections, he alleged that a senior Congress leader threatened him for not joining the party.

As per the media reports, the actor pointed the finger of blame at some aide of Bhardwaj.

Bhardwaj while talking to reporters here denied all the allegations, and said he treated Dutt like his son.

"Nothing of this sort happened what he is saying. How can I threaten a young man unnecessarily? He did not even tell me that he wants any help from me regarding politics or any other thing. He came to me; I simply met him because I treated him like my son. If he is creating a controversy, god bless him. I don''t want to get involved in it," said Bhardwaj.

Dutt was to contest from Lucknow as a candidate of the Samajwadi Party.

He also blamed the Congress party for denying him the permission to contest elections from Lucknow.

Bhardwaj added that government couldn''t decide on who can or cannot contest elections, but a convicted man cannot contest elections as per law.

"Its not in the hands of government to make anyone contest elections. Here law is in front of me, you can read where is it written that person who is convicted for six years jail can contest elections? He is indulging in a wrong debate with government. He is saying something, which was not possible. Its not our work to help people in a wrong way," said Bhardwaj.

Earlier, the Samajwadi party nominated Dutt as its national General Secretary. (ANI)
